Always on point! Best crawfish in SETX or SWLA!!
I've ate a lot of crawfish in my life. I've had some really good crawfish and some pretty bad. The bad ones being those you get at buffets and all you can eat joints where they put them in the steam table. Yummy right? What I've noticed the last couple of years is that a lot of people are putting their own take on traditional crawfish seasonings and one of my biggest favorites is how the Vietnamese have been able to take crawfish and take it to a whole new level. It's fun to be able to go from place to place to see the subtle variations if you enjoy that sort of thing like I do. So here's my point to my long-winded dissertation. If you want some of the finest, best tasting most succulent traditional crawfish in the land, come here! It is old style Louisiana crawfish done completely right. The atmosphere is just what I like. Out there on the side of the highway up on a wooden deck, with the roar of the crawfish burners and the delicious smell of crawfish cooking. It's really rustic, think old picnic tables, weather worn 2x4s and missing screens on the doors. nothing fancy here. That's the attraction. The service is excellent. You might have to wait a little bit for the next batch but well worth it! The owner was sitting at the table next to me, eating a pile of crawfish. I asked him if he ever got sick of eating them. He said, "No way, I eat them every single day!" Now that's saying something. You got a guy that runs the place, eats them everyday so you know they're right every time. I plan to go back many times this season. Oh and by the way the shrimp are huge and the seasoning is different from the crawfish and they are absolutely delicious.
